Lenten Packets

Dear Members and Friends,

It sure has been a time, hasn’t it?  With COVID it is harder to get to church, and the number of people permitted in church is limited.  You may be feeling isolated and not prepared for Lent.  This Lenten Package is to help you and your family have a spiritual practice at home during the forty days of Lent and to pray with scripture during that time.
This packet contains the following:

1. Lenten Devotional Booklet with 40 days of devotions
2. A cotton ball with “ashes” that you may make a cross on your forehead, and say a prayer, on Ash Wednesday February 17.  (The ashes consist of make-up, which can be washed off at the end of the day)
3. Scriptures and Prayers for each of the following Holy Days:  Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) and Good Friday;
4. Valentines candy (God is Love!) and
5. A token or prayer card for personal meditation.
   
   

The promise and guarantee of God is that Easter will come (April 4)!!  While we do not yet know what worship will be looking like at that time, we invite your participation, if possible, either in person or online.

I will have a "meet and greet" and "pick up your Lenten Packet" time outside on Lamar on Sunday afternoon, February 14th, from 2:00 - 4:30 pm. People who haven't laid eyes on me in person may be especially interested in coming to meet me. If you are not able to make it, members of the Session are willing to deliver them to you. So, please let us know.
